Sequence Bets

A Sequence Bet is a bet that you can make while playing Craps that takes more than one roll to complete. Take for example a Pass Line bet, if the shooter doesn’t land on a natural or craps they have to go for their point which takes more than one roll. With sequence bets it could take several rolls to see whether you win or lose. The sequence of the bet starts with the come out roll and ends when you see whether you have made a winning bet or not. A lot of the bets on a Craps game are considered to be sequence bets, including Pass Line Bets, Don’t Pass Line Bets, Come Bets, Don’t Come Bets, Place to Win Bets, Place Bet to Lose, Hardway Bets, Big 6 and Big 8 Bets, and all Odds Bets.

On the other side of the coin so to speak is what is called the one roll bets. These bets are the ones that are decided with one roll of the dice. For example if you are going to place a Field bet the outcome will be decided depending on if the dice land on one of the field numbers with one roll. There are many different one roll bets such as the Field Bet, the Horn, Any Craps and Any 7. When you are thinking about which one of these two types of bets to make you have to know how they all work, though sequence bets are a little more involved they are all great bets to make. For example if you are going to make a Pass Line Bet you should know what it takes to win. If the shooter throws a 7 or 11 you win right away, if they throw a 2, 3, or 12 you lose right away, however if they land on 4,5,6,7,8,9 or 10 that is called establishing a point (this is where the sequence bet comes in) and they have to roll that point again before they roll a seven in order for you (and them) to win. Don’t Pass Lines are exactly the opposite of this bet, you win with a 2 or 3, lose with 7 or 11 and tie with 12, and in this sequence the shooter must land on a 7 before a point to win. In all one-roll bets you are simply hoping for the dice to land on the number or field that you selected, that is all there is to it.

To get a better idea of the two you should go to an online casino that will allow you to play in the play for free mode, so you can experiment with both types of bets and fine tune your systems. There is a lot of debate about which type of bet is better to bet on, whether you decide that you are going to place a sequence bet or a one roll bet you should find out the odds because in the end it comes down to odds, house edge, and good judgment.
